High quality assessment is at the heart of high quality learning. Teachers assess pupils’ learning continually and carefully to ensure that they are providing next steps which will stretch every child and help them to make progress.
Teachers’ assessments are moderated for accuracy regularly within school, within our locality of schools and by external moderators. Pupil progress is tracked at termly progress meetings where teachers are held to account for the progress of children in their class, and any additional support they may need is discussed. Samples of learning are taken, assessed and kept as exemplification to support teachers' and leaders' assessments moving forwards.
