The teachers are Mrs Gold (Year 2 Leader), Miss Bennett-Jane and Miss Pickett. They are supported by Ms Barber, Mrs Douglas, Mrs Martin and Mrs Harmer.
In Year 2, we encourage your children to develop their independence, preparing them for Key Stage 2. During the year, the children will build on their previous learning and develop new skills through a creative and broad curriculum. The Year 2 children are given responsibilities with their 'jobs' including being playground toy monitors, distributing the registers and fruit within Key Stage 1.
Skills are taught through the seven areas of learning and include themes such as 'Super Heroes'.
During the year, we extend our learning beyond the classroom environment and will be visiting various places of interest linked to our topics. We will also be organising workshops led by professionals from outside school.
The children also have opportunities to extend their learning in our outside environment. Every child will have the opportunity to take part in Forest Schools. Here they are provided with a wide range of resources to engage their interest and reinforce their learning within the classroom.
